About Us

Who Is Kim?

Hilltops First Aid is a local training provider owned and operated by Kim Shoard.

Kim moved to Young NSW with her family from Wallendbeen in 1994.  She has a background in health, including nursing and emergency services and is passionate about everything first aid.

Kim gained qualifications in education and business-related fields and has been teaching first aid classes across the Riverina for over 20 years.

What does the Express option mean?

This training option suits learners willing to complete the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid theory component in their own time. Once the learner has completed the theory before the face-to-face session, you come to class and learn the practical elements of first aid.

Hilltops First Aid delivers the training, and the qualification is issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909.

What does the Standard option mean?

This training option suits learners who choose ‘no homework’ before class and are willing to attend a face-to-face session over eight hours, including the combined theory and practical components.

Hilltops First Aid delivers the education and Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909 issues the Statement of Attainment qualification.

The Standard Option is only available for courses HLTAID011

About Our Training

What Will You Learn?

You will learn how to care for a person who needs lifesaving CPR, how to manage an unconscious person or treat someone who is choking. If you need to put an automatic defibrillator on someone, you will learn how. If you had a family member who was severely injured and bleeding, you would know what to do. You will learn about spinal injury, burns, snake and spider bites, broken bones, sprains, anaphylaxis, acute asthma, heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and convulsions. 

Where Are We Located?

We are a local business based in Young NSW and travel to towns within the Riverina and Central Tablelands area. Our first aid courses are on offer on a regular basis but will always be subject to demand. Our training group size ranges from 4 – 8 persons (COVID happy) to enhance student engagement in a relaxed atmosphere to encourage knowledge retention.

What Makes Us Different?

Our training is learner-focused, not trainer-focused.

We aim to keep the student motivated with hands-on and fun activity.

We offer two training options:

  1. Express
  2. Standard – (full face-to-face classroom experience).

We use modern resources, including CPR manikins with lights to illustrate that the student is performing quality CPR, choking manikin, drowning manikin, automatic trainer defibrillator, and other simulated resources to enhance role-play.

We are responsive to business demand and offer value for money.

We offer a courtesy reminder service one month before your certificate expiry date via email or SMS.

Successful completion of the course has a timely turn-a-round for your certificate.

Course fee includes venue (if required) and refreshments

We are registered as a COVID Safe Business and have a COVID safe plan in place.
