When you apply for a job, and they say, ‘a CPR certificate is essential’, the qualification they are referring to is Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation HLTAID009. What do you learn in a CPR course?

You will learn how to care for a person who needs lifesaving CPR. The person may have drowned in a pool, suffered a sudden cardiac or stopped breathing from an acute asthma attack. If you need to put an automatic defibrillator on someone, you will learn how. A family member might become unconscious after suffering a severe stroke, would you know how to look after them? This course will show you how.

This qualification may be important to you because you work in a specific industry. If you work in the childcare, education or disability sector, it is a requirement in that industry that you renew your CPR training every 12 months.

About The Course

The CPR course has two parts, theory and practical first aid. With ‘Express’ you complete the theory online in your own time, and then you come to class for the practical session. If this is your preferred choice, please note that you must allow enough time prior to class to complete the theory in full. The online theory combines animated short videos and asks a series of multichoice questions after each section. The student’s ability to read and write English is necessary, however; if you feel that understanding English is a problem for you, please contact Hilltops First Aid.

Learning the practical application of first aid involves observing the trainer perform the skills and applying theoretical knowledge. Students have time for practice, and when you feel comfortable to perform the skills, the trainer will observe how clever you are.

After attending 100% of this training and upon successfully demonstrating competence in all assessment activities you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment from The First Aid Group, RTO 32268.

Your course fee includes:

Smaller class size
